William E. “Bill” Jett, 79, of Flemingsburg, passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at Robertson County Health Care.
Born in Mount Olivet on July 18, 1944, he was the son of the late Everett Jett and the late Agatha Wood Jett.
Bill worked for the trucking company E. C. Stanton. He also worked as a mail truck driver, owned rental property, was a farmer, and worked in carpentry. He loved to fish and travel with his wife. He was an excellent cook and an avid reader. He was a member of the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church.
Bill is survived by his son, Chris Jett; his granddaughter, Kylee Cooper; his wife of 44 years, Betty Mattox Jett; her sons, Jeffrey and Gregory (Teresa) Dunaway; her grandson, Brandon Dunaway; his sister, Elnora Dodson; along with several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Agatha and Everett Jett; and his brother, Donald Jett.
The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m., Monday, April 29, 2024, at the Flemingsburg First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Snider and Pastor Robbie Shrout officiating.
Honorary pallbearers include Kevin Dodson, Billy Jett, Tom Jett, Ronnie Dodson, and Tim Dodson.
Visitation will be 11 a.m., until the hour of service at 1 p.m., at the church located at 117 West Main Street, Flemingsburg, Ky. 41041.
